On Tuesday, September 29th and Friday, October 23rd, the NEWDIGS team joined the Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and the Johns Hopkins/Tufts Trial Innovation Network (TIN) in co-hosting two unique one-day virtual Design Labs. In September, a team from Mount Sinai presented a possible Efficacy to Effectiveness (E2E) trial design on evaluating the clinical performance of novel surgical techniques and devices. In October, a team from Vanderbilt University presented a possible N-of-1 study design in the treatment of a chronic inflammatory disorder often exacerbated by conventional treatments. The virtual audiences of diverse stakeholders and experts then offered their input and recommendations to both teams.
