Addressing Access Barriers with System Dynamics Modeling: New Team Members Welcome!

Eric NormanNews

Streamlining appropriate, timely, and equitable access to disease-modifying therapies lies at the core of the NEWDIGS Alzheimer’s Disease project. However, impactful and scalable system change is challenging. It will require coordinated process, policy, and technology interventions across local, regional, and national healthcare environments. We are pleased to announce that our efforts to enrich our system innovation toolkit with System Dynamics Modeling is rapidly advancing! Our early model prototype of the current Alzheimer’s Disease care system in the US was well-received at our September Design Lab.

Our next step is to launch a new Group Modeling Team to “feed two birds with one scone”: extend/refine our evolving dynamic simulation model as we also develop initial implementation plans for the solution sets we defined and prioritized at the recent Design Lab. These plans will be further discussed and refined with broader group input from the NEWDIGS community at our April 2026 Design Lab. New team members will be warmly welcomed!
