CBSD was launched in 2022 to provide a home for the rapidly growing NEWDIGS (New Drug Development Paradigms initiative in closer proximity to longstanding collaborators across the biomedical innovation value chain within the Tufts ecosystem.

NEWDIGS, originally launched at MIT in 2009, is a global “think and do tank” focused in helping the system catch up with the science of biomedical innovation. NEWDIGS provides the collaborative environment, design tools, and multi-stakeholder community to advance our mission. Collaborators include patients, clinicians, payers, biopharmaceutical companies, regulators, and investors, among others. Together we drive system changes that none of us can do alone.
