The New Drug Development Paradigms (NEWDIGS) initiative is pleased to announce that it was recently awarded a Community Impact grant from the Danaher Foundation to support its ongoing innovation efforts to improve the precision and health equity of drug therapy use.
The Danaher Foundation seeks to advance Danaher’s Shared Purpose of “Helping Realize Life’s Potential” through community investment and Community Impact grants awarded in three areas: Building a Diverse, STEM-ready Workforce, Advancing Healthcare Innovation, and Protecting the Environment. Our work in NEWDIGS aligns with the Danaher Foundation’s goal in healthcare innovation of improving the patient journey by accelerating accurate diagnosis, the development of, and access to innovative treatments for cancer and rare diseases. Specifically, NEWDIGS focuses on coordinating innovations across real-world evidence (RWE) production, targeted treatment decisions, and payment in order to improve the timely and appropriate access for patients to biomedical products.
NEWDIGS, the flagship program of the Tufts Center for Biomedical System Design, is a multi-stakeholder “think and do tank” focused on downstream (post-market) system innovations that drive more clinical value faster to patients, in ways that work for all stakeholders. The Danaher Foundation grant will support work focused on enhancing the efficiency and scalability of RWE production and aligning incentives across stakeholders in order to routinize scalable, actionable learning across all diseases.
